Health Benefits

Shasta Head Start offers its regular, full-time employees an extensive benefits package. Employee only coverage is paid for entirely by Shasta Head Start for eligible employees. Family coverage is paid for by the employee. Below you will find a brief description of some of our benefits:

Anthem Health Insurance

Shasta Head Start offers health insurance through Anthem to eligible employees. The Anthem Lumenos 3000 plan is a high-deductible health plan with a $3000 annual deductible. This plan is a Health Savings Account (HSA) compatible plan.

Health Savings Account

The HSA Authority Health Savings Account accompanies the Anthem Lumenos 3000 plan. Employees can contribute pre-tax (federal) dollars to their account up to $3100 per year. Monies from an HSA are used to pay for qualified medical expenses.

A health savings account is owned by the individual employee and can be carried over from year to year. Because each employee owns their HSA, it is yours even if you retire or leave the employ of Shasta Head Start.

An employee cannot make or receive contributions to a HSA if they are covered under another plan. Please contact Human Resources if you have any questions.

Assurant Dental

What is important to know about your Assurant Dental plan is that you may see any dentist. Although there are PPO provider lists available and the benefits are enhanced if you elect to use this network, you may elect to see the dentist of your choice without penalty. Using the PPO providers, you maximize your benefits and reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

Blue View Vision

With the Blue View Vision plan, you have access to receive discounted services from an extensive network of vision care providers in California and nationwide.

401(k)

Shasta Head Start has established a 401(k) savings plan through Unified Trust Company to provide employees the potential for future financial security for retirement. Complete details of the 401(k) savings plan are described in the Summary Plan Description provided to eligible employees.

Employee Self-Service

Shasta Head Start offers its employees online access to valuable human resource and payroll information through Employee Self-Service. Employees can view their benefits selections and plan information, add or change dependents, make changes to their personal information and view their pay check stubs online from anywhere they have internet access.
